The pomp and show associated with Indian weddings is simply unmatched. Hindu weddings, especially, are extravagant, gala affairs wherein the entire family is involved in making it a grand success. Weddings in India usually serve as a forum for reunion of family members scattered all over the globe. The elaborate nature of Indian weddings can be gauged from the fact that it requires nearly a month of preparation for the event to go off smoothly.

The red color also represents happiness and good luck to the couple who are getting married. White Indian wedding sari will represent mourning for the Indians that is why they don't go for it. No matter how you want to wear a white Indian wedding sari, you cannot wear it in India because for them, it represents sadness.
